So many things happening right now and it occured to me to look at things from a different perspective today. Not a different "Diane's" perspective, but a look down from above, God's perspective. (I'm not trying to "be" God, but just try to see thing's as He designed them to be.)
For example....
a parent dying of cancer = opportunity to bring parent in to a relationship with Him to experience eternal life
son wrapped up in mental illness = son with opportunity to teach others by example and son with extraordinary ability to empathize and understand people's inadequacies
living day to day, moment to moment = His child truly learning about reliance on Him and others
living with very little control of things happening around us = His child learning about His control
feeling inadequate, unsure and incapable = His child feeling the true strength of His power
It's easy for me to sit and wonder "how could everything be going sooooooo drastically wrong!", but to sit and remember that "nothing is going wrong... things are going the way God wants them to." - that's a hard one. It's easy to say, not as easy to believe and then live like you believe it.
"We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations" - Charles Swindoll
"In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity" - Albert Einstien
" 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me." - God
