Today was Torch Day!

Today was the day we got to see our friend, Mike, run with the torch. It was a great day and because he is the CTV Olympics guy, I was able to get some great shots by shadowing the CTV photographer! (Sneaky, I know...)

Here is Dylan showing some Canadian spirit and effectively hiding his face at the same time.

This is my mom and Dylan hanging out with our friends and waiting for the big moment.

The torch convoy arrives to drop off Mike.

Dylan gets his chance to have a picture with Mike and the torch. I was definitely more excited about it than he was.

My mom gets a picture with Mike, too. The torch was being passed around though.

The Coke trucks came before and after the torch and kept the crowd lively and in the spirit.

Adam Loewen, from the Toronto Blue Jays and born in Vancouver, passed the flame to Mike.

It was a successful flame hand off! Mike's torch is lit and he's ready to run. (Well, walk actually because the relay was ahead of schedule.)

The official handshake and then he's off...

...and walking... (I can't believe I cut off the flame!)

This is one of the official chaser cars.

And Mike passes the flame off to.... (I can't remember) and then gets back on the shuttle.

It was fun to be on the streets with all the elementary school students and be in the middle of some Olympic excitement.
Go Canada Go!
