So, what did you all do for Valentine's Day? I spent the morning moving some furniture, the afternoon with a friend and the evening looking for Spidey. Yup, the dog was at it again. Sometime during the afternoon, while Brendan was out with his long board, the dog got out of the house and no one noticed. Ooops. At about 5:30 Brendan noticed she wasn't in the house and we all set off in different directions, yelling her name. I should mention that Dylan was wearing boxers, a bath robe and flip flops. I went towards the end of the road and two cars stopped to ask me if my children were running down the road in a panic and half dressed. Yes, those are my boys...
There was much shouting, and crying (the boys - the dog still isn't really back in my good books, so I was feeling a bit ambivalent.) and I decided to go back to the house and get the van. I drove up to where the boys were and saw Dylan walking through the gate of the ginormous, brand new, mansion up the road from us. Apparently, they had seen Spidey wandering on the dyke and thought it odd that a little dog, with tags was roaming, so they went and picked her up. They kept her at their place and had been calling us for awhile. You see, Spidey's tags have a phone number on them, but it's my mom's number from when we lived there. I guess I need to get a new tag made tomorrow. Anyways, the people were very kind and took good care of Spidey - thank you to the nice people in the ginormous house. Unfortunately, Spidey can't tell us what the ginormous house is like on the inside - too bad.
After all that excitement and drama, one kid is in the bath, one kid is comatose on the couch, the dog is sound asleep, and I am ready for this day to end.
I hope everyone got to spend the day with at least one person they love.
