Have you ever had a day where your thoughts ran rampant? Where there were definitely more questions than answers? Where your complete lack of normal emotions left you wondering what is wrong with you? How about a day where one load of laundry seemed to multiply before your eyes and become an all day affair? And then the same thing happened with the dishes?! A day where you realized it's been two months since the backyard's been flooded and it's still not fixed? How about where the lightbulbs in the house started going out one by one? And then the car started smoking and you wondered if you had a fire extinguisher in there somewhere? Or how about a day when the kid that never talks to you now wants to know why God started the world, why is the hair on his arm standing up only on one side, and why is the backyard still flooded?
How about a day when you forget to go to the bathroom? Or eat? Or put your bra on BEFORE you go to the store for milk? Perhaps a day when you feel like yelling at anything that gets in your way, but you really can't be bothered? Or when your second kid declares you unfit to help him with his schoolwork? When you try to read a book, but you seem to endlessly be on the second page? A day that seems to last forever?
Too much to think about. Too much to process. Too much to do.
That was today.
At the end of this very long day, I'm reminded to relax and refocus. God is in control, He is good and He loves me. When I shift my focus from Him, for even a split second, my world starts spinning. I need God in my face daily - I know that is why I have the life He has given me. It is startlingly clear that I can not live it well without Him in charge.

Hey, I work with www.mochaclub.org, a non-profit that works in Africa. I saw that you were on the NaBloPoMo list, and we'd love for you to blog about our new campaign on Nov. 24th. The campaign is centered around this idea – at Mocha Club, we have always cared about building an accurate perception of both the challenges that Africans face, and the BEAUTY of Africa. We need bloggers to help get the word out. Please email our director at barrett[at]mochaclub[dot]org if you would be interested in hearing the details!
