A garden to feed us.

I'm trying to get excited about our new vegetable garden. For those of you that know me, you know that I am not a gardening kind of person. I don't really feel the need to plant a seed, water it, worry about the sun shining on it, weed it and wait for something to happen. I can admire the flowers in someone else's garden and be just as happy as enjoying them in my own garden. The difference for us is that we are planting vegetables in an effort to feed ourselves in the most cost efficient, health aware, organic kind of way. I have figured that we can drop our food costs down to $100.00 a month if we can successfully grow our own vegetables, fruit and herbs. Hey, I should look at this as a job! I can stick through many things to earn some money! Ok, I feel better about taking this on now that I have a new perspective on it.

Remember I told you about FlyLady? I am a complete flylady failure! I thought her steps to a clean and organized house were small and easy, but I apparently need the flylady for dummies version. Instead of shining my sink every night, I need to start with turning the tap off all the way, or wiping it out with a paper towel. And the whole 15 minutes with a timer thing is a total failure in house! We can only manage about 2 minutes without distraction. Maybe I should take some of Brendan's adhd meds and see what happens. I would just so much rather be reading a book. Or chatting with a friend. Or sleeping. Or walking the dog. Or washing my hair. (This could go on for a whole post, so I'll stop now.) Maybe for Lent I should give up keeping my house clean.
