My un-touchyfeely nature has been a hot topic of conversation lately. And while having this conversation with a few people, do you know what I've realized? I didn't really have this problem when I had fewer non-Christian friends. Why is hugging/touching a big deal for the churchies? (If you are continuing to read this thinking I'm going to answer that question, you can stop reading now and go back to whatever it is you should be doing.) And why is it so interesting that I am not a touchyfeely person? I am not a germaphobe, I do not have a tortured, abusive past and I don't think anyone is going to unearth anything life changing by continually asking my "why?" I, simply, am not in need of touching or being touched by all the people I encounter in my day. HOWEVER, I am not going to take you out if you, being a touchyfeely person, touch me. If I leave myself open for touching/hugging, I will be ok. Now, some of you are reading this and thinking to yourself, "What! she doesn't like hugs?" -don't worry, you can continue to hand out the arm encircling squeezes (actually, I'm using you for some desensitization therapy :). And if you are not one of the people who regularly hug me, don't worry, I love you just as much as you know I do - but don't go getting any ideas, either.
Ok - questions for today...
15. Who is the person you most want to encourage this year?
I've decided that I'm not going to answer this one on the blog. I don't want to have a world of people wondering if I've done the job well. The goal is to see if the person I'm encouraging is actually encouraged - God and I will be the only judges.
16. What is your most important financial goal this year, and what is the most important step you can take toward achieving it?
My biggest goal is a bit vague, but I am aiming to have the business fully supporting us within six months and providing some savings within the year. Second is to be out of debt by my 40th birthday and my dream goal is to buy a car (well, more of a truck really and take the kids on a great vacation). In light of that, I really should be working more and blogging less.....
