This is all I have to work with.

I was cruising around the internet this morning checking out different blogs and looking for some inspiration when I came across a blog written by a mom that reflects on her day with a spiritual outlook. I was excited to find it because I like to read along to other peoples' lives. I read about 2 paragraphs when I clued in that it was unlikely I would continue to follow the blog. The mom is a great writer and she crafts her words carefully, it was the content that I couldn't relate to. First of all, she obviously has sweet, happy daughters. Secondly, she is able to see God's beauty in every little thing that happens (and that she writes about!). Thirdly, she seems to be one of those calm, understated moms who never raises her voice. Her story was focused on how she began the day with her children... her youngest crawled in to her bed for a cuddle and they lay together in that foggy, warm, pre getting up state, and prayed together. When she got out of bed and put on her robe and slippers, she made her way to her other child's room and found her pulling her Bible off her shelf so that she was ready for when mom came to read with her. The two of them lay on the bed, the daughter read and the mom brushed the girl's hair and listened.
WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE????
This is a mom who has material to work with. She has cute stories that give people warm fuzzies and encourage struggling parents. My morning involved an obstacle course left over from yesterday's nerf gun target practice, a few death threats and an itchy scrotum. What am I supposed to do with that?? I'm not kidding either those were the three most significant events between 7-8am. All you loyal readers want good quality blog posts and some days it's just a struggle to produce. Itchy scrotum.... can I even write about that??
