A quiet house.

Everything in my house is asleep - boys, dog, hamster, fish, rats, etc. It's eerie how quiet it is right now. Usually this is the time that I perk up and start working on something, but tonight all I want to do is join the sleepers. As long as I can remember, 11pm onward has been the most productive time of my day. The fact that all I want to do is sleep right now is freaking me out a bit. I am hoping to go back to school soon and start my Masters, but if I can't power work at night, I won't have time to fit it in. As it is I will have to seriously restructure my days to fit my real work in to the day time hours. Hey! Is this another sign of being older?? :)
I have a strategy to help me overcome my tiredness... Brendan and I are going to start training for the Delta Triathlon! Back in the day, when I was in shape, exercise boosted my energy better than anything else, so I'm banking on that. To be honest, though, the thought of putting on clothes to sweat in, and my new fancy shoes, makes me cringe. I don't even like walking the dog at the moment. I guess it will be baby steps to get my feet moving. Tomorrow we will start with a walk to pace out 5km along the dyke. The triathlon is Saturday, April 25 - a mere 14 weeks away. I have to say, it feels a bit impossible. Maybe I'll feel better after a spin down the dyke in my fancy new shoes...
