Hi everyone! We have made it to Montreal after travelling through Toronto and Niagara Falls. We've been off line since we left Winnipeg so, as I'm sure you've noticed, there weren't any new updates. At the moment we are trying to catch up on some school work, get the photos on to the computer and respond to some emails - oh, and do some sight seeing in Montreal as well!
When we left you last, we were leaving Winnipeg for Toronto on the train. Our train was about 3 hours late leaving Winnipeg and we were about 4 hours late arriving in Toronto, which put us in to Union station at approx. midnight! A big thank you to Al and Leslie who waited for us and took us home to beds, food and laundry!
It seems like there is so much to cover, that it's hard to know where to start. Our first day in Toronto was actually spent relaxing in Burlington with family (Al and Leslie). They took such good care of us while we were with them! On the Tuesday, we slept in a bit and then we borrowed the car and went to the mall. The boys were anxious to spend some of their money on new caps and games for their DS's. The funny thing was that when we walked in the doors of the local mall, the first store they saw was West 49! I can't tell you how long we spent in there while they chose the hats to buy (if you've ever been shopping with Dylan, you can appreciate how painstaking the task was!) and when they discovered that there was a sale and no tax, they almost had to start over again, because now they could afford a hat that was originally out of their price range. Hours later (slight exaggeration) we made our way out of the store and we were off in search of a place to buy a reasonably priced game. Lo and behold, what was around the corner? An EB games! That was perfect because now they could stretch their dollars further and look for a pre-played game. I pulled a book out of my purse at this point, because I knew we were going to be a while. When both of our missions were accomplished we sat at Starbucks for a drink and a snack (we're still working our way through many gift cards!) and then headed out for a grocery store, a Blockbuster and then back home. It was great to have a relaxing, and normal kind of day.
The boys stayed at home with Leslie that night and I went out with some great friends that I haven't seen since I lived in London. They picked me up and we went to Milestone's for a wonderful (and long!) dinner. It was so nice to catch up and hang out with people that I've missed for so long. You know how you can have friends that you don't see for a really long time, but when you get back together it's like no time has passed? That's what this was like. A definite trip highlight for me!
The next day we were off to Niagara Falls. The two days we were there deserve an entry unto themselves, so I'm going to say good bye for now and I'll fill you all in on the adventures at the Falls when we get back to the room tonight.
The internet in our hotel isn't the greatest and it won't let me add pictures to these posts, so I'll work on that tonight as well.
Have a great day everyone!
